Hi.

I am a researcher at Our World in Data. I work to make data and research on democracy and conflict easier to access and understand. You can find some of my work here, here, and here.

I also conduct research in political economy and comparative politics, with an emphasis on how the ideology and identity of political leaders affects redistributive policies and political institutions. Read more about my research here.

My research uses original data on the ideology of chief executives and the identity of coup leaders around the globe. Find more information about the data here.

I have taught courses in political economy, comparative politics, and political methodology. Read more about my teaching here.

I hold a Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago, and received a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Political Science and Economics from Heidelberg University, Germany.
